Howdy

Hi all

I have been dabbling in hobby electronics for a while now. My girlfriend is a little mystified by it all however.

I thought that BEAM bots would be good as something we could build together. Simple electronics (part count wise - I don't understand the bicore AT ALL just yet) and a lot of creativity.

I'm starting simple with just a Pummer so we'll see how I get on. :D

Re: Howdy

Welcome to the forum.

I wouldn't worry too much. My partner is exactly the same but she is also very supportive (comes to competitions and events with me) so I can't complain

I am in the process of creating a new type of solarengine specifically for a pummer (although it could be modifed to control other bots) so perhaps you would be interested in a schematic once I have completed it?

Sam

Re: Howdy

Yeh, I'd be quite interested.

Just waiting for some solar cells I ordered to arrive and then I'll try to find the electronics I need for a bicore/solarengine.

Cool. I will post it here once it is completed. Just after some phototransistors then it *should* be ready for action.

Off-topic:

Arno, I have added a link to your site from my web page. It is really quite a fascinating website :)

The new pummer is going ok. It will be called a tbopse (pro. tee-bop-see) which is an acronym for the bearded one pummer solar engine so as you can see the abbreviation is needed
